Some Bookish Tags/Awards!!

Hello everyone!

I hope all is well with you today! I’m not quiet prepared for the reviews that I was planning on doing today, but I am hoping that by next week I will have had some time to write the posts I mentioned in the last post.

Therefore, today I decided to do some bookish tags! Evin inspired me to do this with her latest post! All credits for inspo go to Evin!

First up we have the Folklore Book tag!

Maggie @ Maggie’s Doodles nominated me to do this award! Thanks Maggie!

Rules:

  • Link to the original creator: Ilsa @ A Whisper of Ink
  • Tag at least three people
  • Declare the rules and list of prompts in your post
  • Thank whoever tagged you and link to their post

The One: A book with an ending that left you speechless
Hmmm… I’d say Kisses From Katie by Katie Davis Majors.

Cardigan: A book that makes you feel happy and sad all at once
It Only Looks Easy by Pamela Swallow. It’s sad and happy all at once, at least for me. lol.

The last great American dynasty: A book with a fascinating and extremely well-told story
Wonder by RJ Palacio. It is an amazing story.

Exile: A book you wish you hadn’t read
I don’t remember the title, but it wasn’t a very good book.

My tears ricochet: A book that made you cry uncontrollably
haha. It Only Looks Easy, Wonder and A Horse for Cassie by Jean Howe

Mirror ball: A book that feels like it was written just for you
I honestly don’t know. Sometimes I feel like certain books were placed into my hands at just the right times, but I don’t know of just one book that feels like it was written for me.

Seven: A childhood book that makes you feel nostalgic
Uh… perhaps Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel.

August: A book that reminds you of summer
The first book that came to mind was one from the American Girl Samantha Series, Samantha Saves the Day, I believe. It is set in summer.
The second book that came to mind was one from a different series, but I don’t remember the title. It’s about a girl who goes to summer camp. I think the series is Camp Confidential

This is me trying: A book that deals with loneliness and sadness
Oh! Oh! what book is it?! I read one… but I don’t remember what it is called

Invisible string: A book that came into your life at the exact right time
There have been a few of these. I don’t remember any specific ones, but I do know that there have been books like that.

Mad woman: A book with a female character you adore
MMM. Basically any Amish Romance books that I have read.

Epiphany: A book that is haunting
I don’t read horror/haunting books. nuff said.

Betty: A book couple that fills you with yearning
oof. Uh, Amish Romance books anyone? I want to meet Lee Glick from the Lancaster Burning trilogy.

Peace: a book character you’d die for because you love them so much!
Uh, Sirius Black or Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter.

Hoax: A book that you thought you were going to love but didn’t
mmm. A long time ago I started reading a book about a horse that I thought I was going to love, but I didn’t. It was called Smokey or something like that. I just didn’t like it…

Nominees:
YOU if you have read Harry Potter. (cause I’m lazy and I don’t know who to nominate.)

Thanks again Maggie for nominating me!!

Maggie also nominated me to do the Bookish Bucket list tag!

so, here it is!

The Bookish Bucket List Tag

Which book genre do you read the most often?
Fiction, for sure. More specifically than that… right now, Amish Romance.

If you could be best friends with a fictional character, who would you choose and why?
I’m not sure… I have lots of characters that I want to be friends with. For now I’d say I want to be friends with Sara Bieler from Lancaster Burning trilogy by Linda Byler.

Do you prefer hardback or soft cover?
What kind of question is that!?!? Lol. I like hardback, but the only hardback books I have are ones that other people gave me cause I am broke… soft covers are okay, but they get beat up too quickly.

What’s the last book you read?
Well, that I completed: The second book in the Lancaster Burning series.

Do you like books with more dialogue, more descriptions, or a balance of both?
A balance of both is essential for a good book in my opinion.

How do you organize your bookshelf? (by color, by spine size, by author, not at all?)
I have organized color, author, and right now not at all.

Is there a book you thought you wouldn’t like, but you ended up loving it?
None that I can think of.

If you could meet one author, who would you choose and why?
Uh. I have no idea.

What time of day do you usually do the most reading?
It depends on the day, but most times it is before bed, around 9 or later.

Have you ever read the end of a book before finishing it?
Yup. I have. Oops. XD

Nominees:
YOU! if you have read any Amish books. (which will be like no one… *sigh) or if you like romance books.

Questions for Nominees:
1. What book is on the top of your TBR list right now?
2. If you could live in a fictional world, what world would it be?
3. What time of the day do you do the most reading?
4. What book did you read last?
5. Have you ever read a book that you thought would be awesome, but wasn’t?
6. What book did you buy last with your own money?
7. Do you fan-girl over any fictional character?
8. Do you ever read ahead in books?
9. What is your least favorite genre?
10. What book(s) are you reading right now?

Will you do this tag?

For the next tags, Evin left an open invitation for.

The Currently Reading Book tag

How many books do you read at once?
Well, it depends. Normally I have several books that I am reading. Right now I have 5 (?) I think that are sitting on my “currently reading” shelf. Out of those I am only reading one right now. lol.

How do decide when to switch between multiple reads?
It depends on the book. If it is a high key adventure, or scary book I don’t read it before bed.

Do you ever switch between bookmarks partway through the book?
Unless I loose the bookmark in the couch or my bed, then no.

What time of day do you usually read?
Most of the time, before bed.

What position do you usually read in?
Uh, sitting on my bed, or sitting on the couch. Normally with horrible, which is not good for my back. XD

If you want to do this tag, go ahead! I’m not sure the “rules” for this tag, so if you want to do it, just answer the same questions that I did.

Never Have I Ever book tag

Rules:

  • Link back to original creator
  • Link back to the person who tagged you or the blog where you first saw this tag

I don’t know who the original creator is… sorry!

Evin tagged me (well, she left an open invitation).

Never Have I Ever…read a later book in a series before reading the first book
Uh, I’m pretty sure I have, by accident.

Never Have I Ever…burned a book
Well, I haven’t myself, but i have witnessed a book being burned. It was an old out of date textbook, I believe.

Never Have I Ever…read a book I knew I would hate
Nope, I haven’t

Never Have I Ever…read the ending of a book before reading the beginning
Yes, I have. No matter how many times I tell myself not to, I end up doing it.

Never Have I Ever…skim read nearly half a book
I’m not sure if I have… probably I have…

I nominate Anyone who wishes to do this award!

Thank you so much to everyone who read this! Let me know if you are going to do any of these tags!

  1. Ah Amish romances! Have you read any by Any Clipston? She’s my favorite Amish author! Definitely recommend her The Amish Heirloom Series; Amish Marketplace series; An Amish Singing. 😊
