Hello ya’ll!
How are you? I’m doing pretty well!
Recently, I read a post from Hattush @Daughter of the Light that inspired me to actually get myself moving and right this. Yeah, I’ve been planning on doing a post like this since the middle of December. Really, I wanted to do this. 🙂 I think it is interesting to hear/see what people have been reading. Avid readers always want more books to read, even if they have so many that it’ll last em like, two months.
Without further ado, introducing………………………………………………………
MONTHLY READS!!!
I’m totally planning on making this a monthly post. We’ll see if that actually happens. 😉
Basically I’ll tell you what books I’ve read each month. For your inspiration, of course.
ps. they are sorted by genre
Historical Fiction:
I enjoy read HF but sometimes have a hard time finding good books in this genre. The Dear America series is still one of my favorites even though it is written for a younger audience.
Dear America: Christmas After All by Kathryn Lasky
Dear America: Early Sunday Morning by Barry Denenburg
Amish Fiction/Romance:
Amish Romance is a genre that I read pretty often. This month I only read two books in this genre, though. Sometimes it is more, sometimes less. 😉
An Amish Christmas Love (four Novellas) by Beth Wiseman, Amy Clipston, Ruth Reid, and Kelly Irvin
The Road Home by Beverly Lewis
Favorite: I’d say probably The Road Home. Overall I like this book better than An Amish Christmas Love.
Fiction:
This is the only book I read in this genre this month. I’ve read it several times and I enjoy it. Truth is, it is a very sad book.
Classics:
Sir Gawain was for school. but I liked it, for the most part.
This year I made a point in reading A Christmas Carol. One year I tried to read A Christmas Carol and I found it to hard, but this year I made it through. Am I ever glad! I really enjoyed it!
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight translated by J. R. R. Tolkien
Favorite: I can’t choose! I like them both!
Biography/Autobiography/Memoir:
This is the only book I read in this genre. I enjoyed it for the most part. It is a very astonishing story.
And those are all the books I read in December! Have you read any of them? What books are you planning on reading in January?
Thanks so much for reading!
Woah, you read a lot this month! I also read A Christmas Carol.
I look forward to this series!

I like the Dear America series too, Haley! And yes, even though it is written for a younger audience, I find it very interesting. I read the one about Pearl Harbor this month! I’ve read a few others as well. Looking forward to the monthly posts! 😉

Those sound amazing! I look forward to reading Love, Aubrey. I’m inclined to sad books for some reason 😂
I read A Christmas Carol a few years ago and I loved it! I actually like most of Charles Dickens’ books. Lovely post!
Happy New Year, Haley!
